Demonology Warlock

Artwork I created featuring my Demonology Warlock from World of Warcraft. The Void Elf demonic summoner manifests his armada of minions to invade a Nerubian stronghold with the Eredar Twins blazing a path forward.

A representation of how I view my character within Azeroth, how I envision the abilities I cast when fighting enemies. I created this piece with the chaotic and occasionally overwhelming playstyle the Demonology Warlock enjoys in World of Warcraft. I, perhaps a little too stubbornly, refused to deviate from my original vision for the artwork and powered through the limitations of the confusing composition. I made this artwork wholly for myself and am sharing it to see if it resonates with other warlocks and summoners out there enough for them to appreciate the time I invested in rendering every inch of this digital canvas with maddening brush strokes.

I must be candid for a moment... This artwork was created through hundreds of hours of revisions and indecisions until I finally created what you see here. This overly ambitious scene constrained within the dimensions of a typical poster frame was a challenge I decided for myself. In the end, I am certain I would not embrace such a trial again, as it proved really frustrating to stubbornly lock myself into this specific composition and finding a way to make it work for better or worse. Along the way in its creation I was marred by unappealing artifacts of previous iterations and sketches which I needed to compromise my sense of detail with questionable artistic decisions just to consider them completed. Ultimately I am proud of what I created, but I would do this a million different ways if I could go back in time. I felt the need to defend my artwork and clarify my process in creating it as I was accused of using AI when I tried posting this piece on another platform. I will update this post on ArtStation in the future with more details of this illustration and the stages of its progress through the years before arriving at this point. I just needed to get all of this off my chest as I put this artwork out into the world and I hope
